SFL to acquire VLCC newbuilding with long-term charter

SFL Corporation has entered into an agreement to acquire a 308,000DWT very large crude carrier (VLCC) newbuilding in combination with a seven-year bareboat charter.

The vessel is currently under construction at an unnamed shipyard in China and is expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2020.

The purchase has an estimated value of US$65 million.
