Joint venture company Proman Stena Bulk has taken delivery of its first methanol-fueled newbuild tanker from China’s Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI).

The 49,990DWT Stena Pro Patria is the first in a series of six dual-fuel MR tankers to be built by GSI for Proman Stena Bulk and Proman. Two sister vessels, Stena Pro Marine and Stena Promise, are also due for delivery later this year.

Stena Pro Patria will leave GSI to load methanol fuel in Ulsan, South Korea, and will arrive in Trinidad and Tobago for its naming ceremony.

The tanker is powered by MAN dual-fuel engines.
