NYK takes delivery of first SOx scrubber-equipped VLCC

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has taken delivery of Tanzawa, its first very large crude carrier (VLCC) to be fitted with a sulphur oxide (SOx) scrubber.

Built by Japan Marine United (JMU), the VLCC has an LOA of 339.5 metres, a beam of 60 metres, a depth of 28.5 metres, and a deadweight of 311,374 tonnes.

Propulsion is provided by one WinGD W7X82 main diesel engine.
