Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has taken delivery of a new methanol carrier from South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.

Capilano Sun will be chartered to MOL from shipowner Hisafuku Kisen. The vessel will then be chartered to Canada’s Waterfront Shipping Company under a long-term contract.

The newbuild is designed to operate on either heavy fuel oil or methanol fuel. It has an LOA of 186.7 metres, a beam of 32.2 metres, and a deadweight of nearly 50,000 tonnes.
