Keel laid for shuttle tanker for Shanghai North Sea Shipping

China’s Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company has laid the keel of a future shuttle tanker ordered by local company Shanghai North Sea Shipping.

Shortly after delivery, the tanker will be deployed in Brazilian waters to support activities at a CNOOC-operated offshore oil field. It will have a deadweight of 155,000 tonnes and a dynamic positioning system.

The vessel’s construction is being supervised by OSM Maritime.
