Wisconsin yard to build second LNG bunker barge for Polaris New Energy
Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, has agreed to partner with PNE Marine Holdings, an affiliate of Polaris New Energy, for the construction of a second 5,500-cubic-metre LNG bunkering barge.
The new barge will be a sister vessel to Clean Canaveral, which will be delivered to Polaris in mid-November 2021.
Upon completion, the new ABS-classed barge will have an LOA of 340 feet (103 metres), a beam of 66 feet (20 metres), and four 1,375-cubic-metre IMO Type C cargo tanks.
