Chinese shipbuilder Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering has delivered the first in a series of four bunkering and supply vessels ordered by Avenir LNG.

The 7,500-cubic-metre Avenir Aspiration will be stationed in the Mediterranean, where it will supply LNG to Avenir’s HIGAS LNG Terminal in Sardinia. In addition to servicing Avenir’s own demand, the vessel will provide LNG bunkering services via ship-to-ship transfer to multiple customers throughout the Mediterranean.

The second through fourth ships in the series will be delivered by Nantong CIMC between late 2021 and early 2022.
