Naming ceremony held for JERA’s second 80,300DWT LNG carrier

A christening ceremony was recently held at Mitsubishi Shipbuilding for the second 80,300DWT LNG carrier being built for Trans Pacific Shipping 6, a joint venture between JERA and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line).

The new ship, named Bushu Maru, will be used to transport LNG for the Freeport LNG project in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Texas.

The ship will have a length of 297.5 metres, a beam of 48.94 metres, a depth of 27 metres, a draught of 11.5 metres, and a total cargo tank capacity of 180,000 cubic metres.

Completion and delivery are scheduled for June.
