MOL christens new LNG carrier for US-India route

Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) held a formal naming ceremony for a new LNG carrier on Tuesday, February 9.

Gail Bhuwan will be operated on charter with Indian natural gas company GAIL. It will be used to transport LNG from the US Gulf Coast to India.

The vessel has a length of 297.9 metres, a beam of 47.9 metres, a draught of 11.5 metres, and a total cargo capacity of 180,000 cubic metres.

Construction took place at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in South Korea.
