Greek shipowner Minerva Marine has taken delivery of the first in a series of two new LNG carriers built by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME).

Minerva Psara has capacity for 173,400 cubic metres of LNG, two-stroke engines, and a full reliquefaction system that will help minimise the occurrence of cargo loss due to gas boil-off.

The newbuild has already commenced sailing under a long-term charter between Minerva and an unnamed LNG operator.
