LNG carrier Marvel Pelican delivered to MOL

Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) recently took delivery of the newbuild LNG carrier Marvel Pelican from Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

The vessel is the third of three LNG carriers that will sail under charter contracts signed with Mitsui and Co in September 2014 and January 2015. These will mainly transport LNG from the Mitsui and Co-backed Cameron LNG project in the US state of Louisiana.

Marvel Pelican has an LOA of 299.99 metres, a moulded beam of 48.9 metres, a cargo tank capacity of 155,985 cubic metres, a crew of 44, and a dual fuel diesel electric (DFDE) propulsion system that delivers a speed of 19.5 knots.
