Kanfer Shipping orders two LNG bunkering ships from Chinese yard

Norwegian shipowner Kanfer Shipping has awarded China’s Taizhou Wuzhou Shipbuilding Industry a contract for the construction of two LNG bunkering and distribution vessels in a series.

The newbuildings will each have a total LNG cargo capacity of 6,000 cubic metres. Deliveries will take place by the second half of 2023.

Other features on each ship will include a mono-tank design that helps minimise the risk of gas boil-off and joystick-operated azimuth and bow thrusters.

The contract awarded by Kanfer also includes options for additional vessels.
