Hudong Zhonghua begins building two LNG bunkering vessels for MOL

Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding recently held a steel-cutting ceremony to mark the start of construction of two LNG bunkering vessels ordered by Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

The vessels will each have a total cargo capacity of 18,600 cubic metres and a range of 19,500 nautical miles, thus allowing round trips between Europe and the Far East.

The bunkering vessels will be the second and third in a series that Hudong Zhonghua will build for MOL. The first vessel in the series, Gas Agility, was recently delivered to MOL and will begin sailing on charter with Total later this year.

As with Gas Agility, construction of the second and third vessels will take place at Hudong Zhonghua Merchant Marine Mitsui’s shipyard in China.
