Avic Dingheng cuts steel for first of eight chemical tankers for GEFO

Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding has cut the first steel for a new chemical tanker ordered by GEFO Shipping Group of Germany.

The vessel will be the first of a series of eight ice class 1A chemical tankers with a displacement of 7,000 tonnes.

The DNV GL-classed tanker will have a length of 109.9 metres, a beam of 18.4 metres, a depth of 9.2 metres, a design draught of 7.2 metres, and 14 cargo tanks.

All eight vessels of the order are expected to be delivered by 2020.
