Onomichi Dockyard launches second 50,000DWT product tanker for Itochu

A new 50,000DWT product/chemical tanker ordered by Itochu Corporation was launched and formally named in a ceremony in Hiroshima on Friday, June 7.

Named Challenge Prospect II, the tanker is currently under construction at the facilities of Onomichi Dockyard.

The vessel is a sister of the 2010-built Sunshine Express (pictured), the first 50,000DWT product tanker that Onomichi delivered to Itochu.
