Daewoo delivers LNG carrier to MOL

Mitsui OSK Lines, has taken delivery of an LNG carrier, jointly owned with the Itochu Corporation, at the Okpo shipyard by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.

LNG Schneeweisschen features two new technologies – a slow-speed two-stroke engine made by Winterthur Gas and Diesel, which can run on natural gas, MGO and heavy fuel oil; and the Methane Refrigeration System-Full Re-liquefaction by DSME, which works with the high-efficiency X-DF engine to re-liquefy surplus boil off gas and returning it as LNG to the cargo tank.

LNG Schneeweisschen has entered in to a transportation service contract for several voyages with Uniper Global Commodities.

The vessel measures 297.9 metres in length and 47.9 metres in breadth with a draught of 11.5 metres. It has a cargo tank capacity of 180,000m3 and maximum speed of 19.5 knots.
