SHI wins US$370 million order for LNGC duo

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has been awarded a contract for two 174,00-cubic-metre LNG carriers.

Powered by a duel-fuel engine that uses natural gas and diesel as fuel, the vessels will be equipped with Mark-Ⅲ Flex type containment systems with re-liquefaction to lower boil-off gas (BOG).

The price is US$184 million each, with an option for two more vessels.

They are scheduled for delivery in July and October 2020.
