Okskaya shipyard lays keel for third Project ROB20 oil barge

Okskaya Sudoverf has conducted a keel-laying ceremony for the third of 10 non-self-propelled Project ROB20 loading barges.

Being built by the State Leasing Transport Company and leased to St Petersburg’s Paula Rise, the Novaya Belskaya-type, 6,013DWT O-class barge was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.

The 118.7-metre LOA by 22.8-metre BOA vessels have draughts of 2.75 metres and cargo tank capacities of 6,860 cubic metres.

Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2018.

River transportation of dangerous cargo (including light oil and oil products) by single-hull tankers is not allowed under national regulations. Soviet-era tankers can no longer operate after January 1.
