Rosmorport to expand grain transshipment facilities

MARINE PROJECTS WEEK

Russian port operator Rosmorport and local grain infrastructure specialist Demetra Holding have entered into an agreement on the development and expansion of grain cargo transshipment facilities in the some of the country’s seaports.

One of the main projects covered by the agreement is the construction of a new two-sided pier capable of accommodating Panamax vessels at one of the existing docks at the Port of Novorossiysk. The works will also include construction of grain silos and other infrastructure as well as associated dredging works.

The development of port capacities for grain cargo transshipment will be in fulfilment of an order by President Vladimir Putin to increase agricultural exports.
