Repairs approved for Coos Bay Port’s north jetty

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay said that repairs of the port’s north jetty will be carried out this year following the recent confirmation by Congress that the project has been included in the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) workplan for 2021.

Approximately US$34.65 million will be invested in lengthening the structure by 36 to 45 metres, stabilisation of the jetty head, and addition of rock to the trunk and root.

Besides enhancing navigational safety within the port, the repair work is expected to improve the efficiency of annual maintenance dredging.
