A high-voltage shore charging facility with a capacity of up to 16 MVA will be installed at the Port of Karmsund in Haugesund in southern Norway.

The new quayside facility will primarily be used by cruise ships but will also be available to serve other vessels outside of the cruise season. The facility will be able to supply over a hundred cruise ships with low-voltage shore power each year.

Testing and installation works will be carried out by PSW Power and Automation.

The shore power installation is scheduled for completion and delivery to the port at the end of 2022.
