A new port was recently opened in Jazan City in the Jazan Region on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.

The Port of Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries has a total berth length of 1,250 metres for containers, bulk, and general cargo and a design capacity of one million TEUs per year and around four million tonnes of cargo. There is also a liquid cargo terminal for the oil tanker fleet of Saudi Aramco.

The Royal commission for Jubail and Yanbu will operate the port jointly with Hong Kong-based Hutchison Ports under an agreement signed in February 2021.
