Indonesia’s Pertamina to build new fuel storage terminal

Indonesian state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, through its subsidiary Pertamina International Shipping, has entered into a collaboration agreement with local port operator Pelindo for the Jakarta Integrated Green Terminal (JIGT) development in Kalibaru, North Jakarta.

The proposed terminal will complement the Integrated Terminal Plumpang, which currently serves as a hub for petroleum infrastructure in Western Java.

JIGT will be used to store fuels such as LPG, LNG, petrol, and biodiesel but would also be designed to accommodate used cooking oil and petrochemical products.

JIGT is being constructed in the area developed by Pelindo in the Kalibaru region of North Jakarta. The facility has deep-sea berths capable of accommodating large vessels.

With an area spanning 64 hectares, JIGT will have a storage capacity of 6.3 million barrels upon completion.
