APM Terminals Mumbai, also known as Gateway Terminals India (GTI), will invest US$115 million in infrastructure development that will increase the container handling capacity of its Nhava Sheva facilities.

The company will invest in six ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and three rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes. The investment is aimed at enabling GTI to accommodate changing customer needs for larger vessel capability.

GTI said that, with this investment, its container handling capacity will increase by 10 per cent to 2.18 million TEUs from its current annual capacity of two million TEUs.

The Nhava Sheva terminal has 712 metres of quay length and is spread out over an area of 63 hectares.
