The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and the country’s Department of Transportation (DOTr) inaugurated a recently expanded seaport in the province of Siquijor on Thursday, August 26.

Among the improvements in Siquijor Port is the increase in the number of available Ro-Ro and Ro-Pax ferry berthing spaces from four to eight. The DOTr said one of the berths can accommodate 65-metre-long vessels.

The seaport expansion works were carried out over a three-year period.
