USC begins development of new cargo ship series
Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has commenced development work on a new series of 8,000DWT dry cargo vessel that will be constructed entirely from locally-sourced materials.
Each vessel under the Project 23640 series will be used for transport of general and bulk cargo in both inland and coastal waters.
The first unit is expected to be completed and delivered as early as 2021.
