Swedish cargo company orders six hybrid ice-class ships from Indian yard
Swedish shipowner AtoB@C Shipping has placed a €70 million (US$82 million) order for six cargo vessels in a series to be built by India’s Chowgule and Company.
Each vessel will have ice class 1A notation, a deadweight of 5,350 tonnes, a length of 90 metres, a beam of 16 metres, a draught of six metres, and hybrid electric propulsion. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2023.
Design work on the vessels will be provided by Netherlands-based SMB Naval Architects and Consultants.
