Designed by Conoship International and built by Wuhu Shipyard in China, Bore Way has a length of 120 metres, a deadweight of 7,000 tonnes, a speed of 15 knots, and Swedish/Finnish ice class 1A notation. The vessel will be capable of transporting Ro-Ro, container, and project cargo.

The newbuild will operate under a long-term charter with UPM, a paper products company headquartered in Helsinki.
