Matson takes delivery of second Kanaloa-class Con-Ro ship
US carrier Matson has taken delivery of Matsonia, the second of two Kanaloa-class Con-Ro ships built by General Dynamics NASSCO.
Like sister vessel Lurline, Matsonia has a length of 265 metres, a beam of 34 metres, a draught of 11.5 metres, a displacement of over 50,000 tonnes, and capacity for 500 vehicles.
The ship is also one of the fastest in the Matson fleet with an operating speed in excess of 23 knots.
