Finneco I, the first of three Ro-Ro vessels in a series, was delivered to Finnish operator Finnlines by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) on Thursday, April 27.

The RINA-classed newbuild will enter service on Finnlines’ Baltic Sea, North Sea and Biscay routes in June 2022. The two other ships in the series are under various stages of construction and will be delivered to Finnlines before the end of the year.

With ice class 1A Super notation and measuring 238 by 34 metres, Finneco I can transport approximately 400 trailers per voyage. The ship is powered by a pair of 12,780kW two-stroke main engines while a battery power bank supplemented by 600 square metres of solar panels provides electrical power during port calls.

Facilities include single cabins for lorry drivers, a gym, a sauna, a dining and recreation room, and a laundry area.
