Florida-based freight operator CG Railway, a joint venture between Seacor Holdings and Genesee and Wyoming, has taken delivery of a new Ro-Ro rail ferry.

Mayan measures 590 feet (179 metres) long and has capacity for 135 railcars, indicating a 17 per cent increase compared to older ferries in the CG Railway fleet.

The newbuild will enter into service in December 2021 to replace Banda Sea. Until then, Banda Sea will continue to operate alongside Mayan‘s sister ship Cherokee (pictured), which was delivered earlier this year.
