United European Car Carriers (UECC) took delivery of a new pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) from China’s Jiangnan Shipyard on Monday, June 13.

Auto Achieve is the second in a series of LNG battery hybrid PCTCs ordered by UECC from the same shipyard. It will operate on European shortsea routes alongside sister vessel Auto Advance, which was delivered late last year.

Auto Achieve measures 169 by 28 metres and has capacity for 3,600 vehicles on 10 cargo decks. The propulsion arrangement includes IMO Tier III dual-fuel engines, a WE Tech energy storage system, and Corvus Energy PM-charged batteries.

The PCTC also has an intelligent energy management system supplied by Kongsberg Maritime.
