Grimaldi adds 65,000DWT car carrier to fleet

Grimaldi Group has taken delivery of a new pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) from Chinese shipbuilder Yangfan.

The 65,000DWT Grande Texas is the sixth in a series of seven ships ordered by Grimaldi from the same builder. It has capacity for 7,600 CEUs or a combination of 2,737 CEUs and 5,400 lane metres for other freight.

Power is provided by one MAN main engine that features an electronic monitoring system and an exhaust gas cleaning system.

Grande Texas will be operated on Grimaldi’s weekly service between North America and the Mediterranean.
