Oldendorff acquires Post-Panamax pair, orders two Ultramax newbuildings

Oldendorff Carriers has ordered two 61,300DWT Ultramax bulk carrier newbuildings and acquired two 93,000DWT Post-Panamax vessels in separate transactions, the company said on Tuesday, April 6.

The Ultramaxes will be delivered from Dalian Cosco Kawasaki Ship Engineering (DACKS) in July 2022. The vessels will each have a MAN B&W 6S50ME-B9.3 main engine, a Daihatsu auxiliary engine, ballast water treatment systems, and bollards optimised for use in the New Panama Canal.

The two Post-Panamaxes were built in 2012 in China and will be taken over in India in the first half of April 2021. Each is equipped with a South Korean-built Doosan-MAN-B&W 6S60MC main engine and a Doosan auxiliary engine.
