NYK orders four LNG-fueled capsize bulkers
NYK has placed orders for four LNG-fueled capesize dry bulk vessels for delivery beginning in FY2024.
Two of the vessels will be built by Nihon Shipyard while one each will be built by Namura Shipbuilding and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) subsidiary Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS).
NYK said the four ships will generate 85 per cent fewer NOx emissions and 40 per cent fewer CO2 emissions compared to existing conventional heavy oil-fueled vessels.
