CSK Zephyr, a bulk carrier operated by Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), rescued four fishermen whose boat had capsized in bad weather off the coast of Manila, Philippines, on Friday, June 12.

While the bulk carrier was sailing from Port Hedland, Australia, to Caofeidian, Tangshan in China, the crew found the four fishermen clinging to their overturned boat.

The master of CSK Zephyr immediately informed the Philippine Coast Guard and the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre as the crew brought the four distressed individuals on board.

The rescued fishermen were found to be in good health and were later transferred to the Philippine Coast Guard multi-role response vessel (MRRV) BRP Malabrigo.
