Neptune Marine launches cable transport barge for NKT
NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK
Netherlands-based Neptune Marine has launched a custom-designed cable transport barge for Danish power cable supplier NKT.
The shallow-draught vessel has been built at Neptune’s shipyard in Hardinxveld and will be used to transport power cables from NKT’s facilities in Germany to various Dutch seaports.
The barge was designed with an integrated cable carousel to enable it carry several thousand tonnes of cables on a single voyage.
