Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has entered into an agreement for the supply of coal transport services for local company Tohoku Electric Power.

The vessel that will serve the charter will be fitted with a hard sail wind power propulsion system and will be used to transport coal from Australia and the US West Coast to Tohoku’s facilities in Japan.

Construction of the 99,000DWT vessel will take place at Oshima Shipbuilding. Delivery is scheduled for 2022.
