Louisiana’s McDonough Marine takes delivery of first spud barge in series
McDonough Marine Services of Metairie, Louisiana, has taken delivery of the first in a series of four spud barges ordered from local builder Conrad Shipyard.
The identical spud barges each measure 180 by 54 by 12.5 feet (54 by 16 by 3.8 metres), have a deck strength of 2,500 pounds per square foot (12,200 kilograms per square metre), and four spud wells.
Conrad said the remaining barges in the order are on schedule for delivery in third and fourth quarters of 2021.
