LNG-fueled cargo ship delivered to Wijnne Barends
China’s Wuhu Shipyard has delivered a new multi-purpose cargo vessel to Dutch shipping company Wijnne Barends.
The 115- by 16.5-metre Lady Marie Christine is the first in a series of four new LNG dual-fuel vessels designed by Groningen-based Conoship International for the same customer. It is capable of transporting project cargo as well as various kinds of paper-related materials.
Conoship said the newbuild is also the first LNG-fueled dry cargo vessel to be operated on shortsea shipping routes in Europe.
