Japanese yard delivers 208,000DWT bulker

Japan Marine United (JMU) delivered a new bulk carrier to an unnamed shipowner on Thursday, October 21.

The NK-classed, Panamanian-flagged First Penguin measures 299.99 by 50 metres and has a deadweight of 208,772 tonnes. Power is provided by a MAN-B&W 7S65ME-C8.5 electronically-controlled diesel engine that delivers a speed of 14.5 knots.

The vessel also has SOx scrubbers, an optimised hull form, and low-friction paint.
