South Africa-based Imperial Logistics has sold its 90 per cent ownership of German inland waterway shipping company Multinaut Donaulogistik to Peter Jedlicka, Multinaut’s managing director.

Jedlicka sold the stake to Imperial in 2008, retaining 10 per cent of its shares. He is now again the sole owner of the business, which operates a fleet of 25 vessels ranging from 750 to 2,900 tonnes capacity.

The sale of Imperial’s majority stake in Multinaut follows its recent agreement to sell its Imperial-branded European inland waterways shipping business to HGK.

Imperial CEO Hakan Bicil said the company will then focus on growing its existing logistics activities in the automotive, healthcare, consumer, chemicals, and industrial sectors as well as expand its international freight management network.
