Fesco wraps up transportation support for Russian submarine decommissioning

Fesco Transportation Group has completed providing support for the ongoing decommissioning of Russian Navy nuclear-powered submarines that have been retired from service.

Under a contract awarded by state-owned Radioactive Waste Management Enterprise (RosRAO), Fesco transported multi-sectional blocks of submarine hulls from Kamchatka to a decommissioning site in Primorye over 2,700 kilometres away using a chartered semi-submersible vessel.

The company had also provided towing services for RosRAO under the same contract.
