China Shipbuilding Group delivers second sand carrier in series to local partnership

China Shipbuilding Group, through subsidiary Beichuan Heavy Industry, has delivered a new ore carrier to a partnership formed by local companies ICBC Financial Leasing and China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).

The 325,000DWT Ore Fuzhou is the second in a series of sand carriers to be built for the same customer. The first vessel, Ore Yantai, was delivered in February 2020.

Ore Fuzhou has an LOA of 340 metres, a beam of 62 metres, and a range of 25,500 nautical miles. Adequate space on board has also been allotted for the possible installation of an LNG fuel tank should the owners decide to have the vessel converted to run on natural gas.

The formal handover of Ore Fuzhou to its new owners was conducted via video conference due to public health restrictions.
