France’s Neopolia has emerged as the winner among 15 shipyards in a tender for the construction of two 136-metre-long sailing main propulsion cargo vessels for local designer and operator Neoline.

The construction of the first ship is scheduled to start at the end of 2019, with launch scheduled for the end of 2021.

Neoline plans to operate the vessels along a proposed transport route that includes Saint-Nazaire, the US East Coast, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon in Newfoundland, Canada.
