Self-propelled hopper barge Silnaya launches in Russia

The self-propelled hopper barge Silnaya has been launched at the Republic of Karelia’s Onezhsky Shipbuilding in Russia.

With a hold capacity of 600 cubic metres and 1,540-tonne displacement, the 56.1-metre LOA and 11.2-metre BOA vessel ordered by Rosmoport will be used to transport dredged material.

Reaching an operating speed of 8.2 knots, the vessel will host three crew for an endurance of five days.

Silnaya is the second barge in a series of three vessels of Project HB 600 being built at the shipyard.

The Iсе1-rated R3-RSN AUT3 barge will now undergo outfitting and adjustment of equipment before its scheduled delivery in June.
