ZIM exercises charter options for five additional 7,000TEU ships

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has exercised its option to long-term charter five additional 7,000TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessels from Seaspan Corporation, pursuant to a transaction previously announced by the two companies in July 2021.

Under the previously announced transaction, ZIM already entered into long term charter agreements for ten 7,000TEU LNG vessels that are due to be delivered starting from the fourth quarter of 2023 and into 2024.

The value of this option for ZIM is in excess of US$750 million.
