Taiwan’s Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation recently held a naming ceremony for the new container vessel YM Cooperation.

Built by local shipyard CSBC Corporation, the vessel is the final one in a series of ten 2,800TEU ships to be delivered to Yang Ming.

YM Cooperation has a length of 209.75 metres, a beam of 32.8 metres, a draught of 11.2 metres, and a nominal capacity of 2,940 TEUs and 353 reefer containers. The ship is designed to cruise at a speed of 21 knots.

Yang Ming said the ship will be one of the first to receive the DNV SmartShip notation in Taiwan. The notations, including SmartShip OE (Operational Enhancements) and PE (Performance Enhancements), indicate that the vessel is equipped with advanced features such as route specific container stowage to optimise container stowage flexibility and trim optimisation to save fuel consumption.
