Seaspan Corporation acquires two containerships on long-term charter

Seaspan Corporation has agreed to the purchase of two containerships for approximately US$146 million in cash.

Seaspan expects to take delivery of the acquired vessels in the third quarter of 2020, subject to customary closing conditions.

The containerships are both 13,000TEU vessels built in 2010 and 2011, respectively. These will operate under long-term charters with an unnamed shipping company.
