Seaspan acquires four containerships on long-term charter for US$367 million

Hong Kong-based Seaspan Corporation has agreed to purchase a fleet of four containerships for approximately US$367 million in cash.

The acquired vessels consist of four 12,000TEU containerships. One was built in 2017 while the rest were built in 2018.

All four will operate under long-term time charters with an unnamed global liner.

Seaspan expects to take delivery of the vessels during March and April 2020.
